Week 5: The Church's Message: Peter Speaks

Day 2

Colossians 1:9-12 (New International Version)

9For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified youa]">[a] to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.

----------

Have you ever felt as if your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling--as if no one is really listening? some people believe we're stupid for praying to an invisible God. But the resurrection changes things. We don't pray to a dead god. Our God rose from the dead and is alive today. that means we can have a real relationship with him. Knowing and obeying him isn't just about rules; it's about getting to know him personally. The word knowledge in these verses means having an experience with someone, not just knowing facts about the person. Jesus is alive and seeking a real relationship with you. Are you doing the same with him?

Check your prayers. Do you pray as if someone is really listening and might talk back?

Are you building a real relationship with Jesus?
